The UroLift® System treatment is a revolutionary, minimally invasive approach to treating an enlarged prostate, or BPH, that lifts or holds the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way so it no longer blocks the urethra. There is no cutting, heating or removal of prostate tissue. Clinical data has shown that the UroLift System treatment is safe and effective in relieving lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH without compromising sexual function. Most common side effects are light blood in the urine, some pain or discomfort when urinating, some increased urge to go and discomfort in the pelvis that typically resolve within two to four weeks after the procedure.
Rezūm is a treatment for BPH that can be performed in a clinic or out-patient setting. Rezūm uses the stored thermal energy in water vapor (steam) to treat the extra prostate tissue that is causing symptoms such as frequency, urgency, irregular flow, weak stream, straining and getting up at night to urinate.
Inside a hand-held device, radio frequency energy is applied to a few drops of water to create vapor (steam). The water vapor is injected into the prostate tissue that is blocking the flow of urine from the bladder, where it immediately turns back to water, releasing the energy stored in the vapor into the cell membranes. At this point, the cells are gently and immediately damaged, causing cell death. Over time, your body will absorb the treated tissue through its natural healing response.
TESTOPEL is the only FDA-approved testosterone pellet available to help restore testosterone levels in men with Low T. It helps restore testosterone levels in men with Low T for 3 to 4 months, sometimes up to 6 months. TESTOPEL® is covered by a majority of commercial insurance plans and can be performed in our office.
A vasectomy is a quick office procedure that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete with only 1-2 days of recovery. We often plan these procedures for Friday afternoons to help our patients with their work and office scheduling. Even though the vasectomy is an efficient, low-risk method that is considered to be the most effective method of birth control out there, many men shy away from it. Why? Many men say that they would consider a vasectomy were it not for the pain. They just can’t stand the thought of any procedure performed on the most sensitive and intimate part of their body. The modern vasectomy procedure performed by our board certified urologists results only in temporary minor discomfort making it an excellent option for all men who are no longer interested in fathering more children.
